Maple Assignments for Math 192

Read these Important Notes  before opening these worksheets.

1. Internet Explorer has been found (Fall, 2014) to be the browser of choice for Citrix Receiver, our "hand-shaking" software for remote access to Maple.

2. There are two executable Maple programs.  The one we used to create these Maple worksheets is called Classic Maple (cwmaple.exe) and uses a gold icon.  The other Maple program is the regular Maple (wmaple.exe) using a red icon and has a much steeper learning curve since its claim to fame is producing ready to publish documents. If at all possible, you should use the Classic Maple with the gold icon.

3. There is a quirk that some of you might run into when opening a Maple worksheet. Maple states that the worksheet was created with an older version of Maple and asks if you wish to update it. Your answer should be, "No".

If you answer, "Yes", Maple discards most if not all of the explanations and instructions written in black. If you are wondering why we have not updated the worksheets ourselves, here's the explanation. Maple is upward compatible (mostly) but not downward compatible. So if we update our worksheets to Maple 15, say, then those with Maple 13 and lower versions of Maple will not always be able to access the worksheets easily.

Anyway, the single "No" answer above will suffice to give you access to all of the instruction and explanation. In addition, you should be aware that data is shared both within a worksheet and across worksheets that are open at the same time. It is important to reset your variables when you go to a new worksheet.

Good Luck.
