Associating the file
type .mws |
Herein are the Steps to associate the file type .mws with the Maple program |
Assumptions: |
The program (Maple) is installed on the hard drive. |
You know where the .exe file for the program (wmaple.exe)
is on the hard |
You know where some sample file is with a .mws extension. |
Steps: |
From the Start button, click Start, click Programs, click Windows Explorer. |
Find a file with the .mws extension and right-click the filename. |
If the top option says Open, then that filetype is already associated. Just click Open to see whether Maple is the program associated and the file opens in Maple. |
If the top option says Open With ..., type "Maple Work Sheet" (without the double quotes) in the top box. Click Other, find the wmaple.exe executable file, click it. |
(It should now appear in the "Open With ..." window list.) |
Click Okay. |
Results: Now by clicking a file with a mws extension, Maple should open the file. |
|
If all of this fails, from Windows Explorer, click Help, click Help Topics, type in the word, associating, click File Types with Programs, click either one of options and follow the instructions. |
