MATHEMATICS PLACEMENT TEST INFORMATION

Retesting on the Accuplacer Mathematics Placement Exam:

The Mathematics Department at AACC provides two opportunities for students to review algebra concepts in preparation for a second attempt on the Accuplacer Mathematics Placement Exam. Prior to enrolling in either course, you must take the Accuplacer Mathematics Placement Exam. Placement exams are given on a walk-in basis. Please allow at least 60 minutes to take the exam. For information about Testing Center locations and times, please visit the website: http://www.aacc.edu/testing/

Once you have received your initial placement, if you would like the opportunity for a second attempt on the Accuplacer Mathematics Placement exam, select one of the following programs.

If your initial placement is MAT-010, Prealgebra or MAT-011, Beginning Algebra, then you are required to complete SKL-328 "Preparation for the Math Placement Test" before being allowed a second and final attempt on the Accuplacer Mathematics Placement exam. To locate available sections of SKL-328, please visit the website click here.

Note: Completion of SKL-328 does not guarantee a higher placement.

If your initial placement is MAT-012, Intermediate Algebra, then you are required to complete the ALEKS "Prep for College Algebra" online tutorial program. ALEKS "Prep for College Algebra" will provide you the opportunity to fill in some gaps in your math knowledge. Registering in ALEKS does not guarantee placement into a credit math class at AACC. Completing a minimum of 70% of the ALEKS program is a good indicator that you will significantly increase your Accuplacer placement test score. Get started with the ALEKS Prep for College Algebra tutorial.

Note: Completion of ALEKS "Prep for College Algebra" does not guarantee a higher placement.
